Yes to a bridge-walls poll

LETTER

In support of your correspondents T. and B. Brown, an opinion poll on the concrete bridge blocking our beautiful views of the inner harbour and three-river confluence could help gauge the level of support for removing them.

The council has spent plenty of money on beautifying this area, lighting it up majestically, and it is a great looking space — which you cannot see from the best viewpoint, the bridge, because of the ugly concrete sides.

Just because an ugly concrete wall is old does not mean it isn’t an ugly wall. Could a portion of the wall with a significant plaque, explaining the historical relevance of the concrete wall, be a way forward?

Let our visitors enjoy the splendour of our beautiful harbour and river vistas!
