Climbed it, got the T-shirt

LETTER

What an amazing Titirangi Maunga Challenge it has been this year. Who would think that someone has now climbed the maunga 350 times!

The camaraderie has been amazing, with the atmosphere only spoiled by the occasional driver who seems to have a vendetta against climbers.

One thing though — why haven’t more people bought the wonderful sponsored T-shirts, with all funds from sales going to the bowel cancer cause? I understand Sport Gisborne has plenty left — in fact, I am getting at least one more as at $20 it’s a donation and they are a quality shirt.

Come on people — get behind the cause. Only a small percentage of climbers have bought one so far.

Thanks again to the Shivnans as both initiators and sponsors (plus the other sponsors), as this is truly a great community event which brings people together from all walks (excuse the pun) of life.

Don’t forget, the maunga is there all year round!

Do you support the call for a feasibility study into developing an "inland port" and sending the district's export logs to Napier Port by rail, to get log trucks out of the city and to repurpose the port and harbour area?
