Mindless vandalism

LETTER

Re: Turanga Gardens.

To the mindless, nasty person/s who are continuing to destroy what a small group have tried to create over the past 17 or so years, I salute your total stupidity and disregard or respect for both the caring general public and our efforts.

Both iris and other bulbs were torn from the ground and either discarded or thrown into the stream.

The first flowers on the beautiful Dublin Bay rose torn off and bedding plants trampled underfoot.

As if to make certain, at least six new or first-year rhododendrons have had branches torn from them and discarded under the trees.

In addition, new plantings of hosta have been trampled, and recently-donated orchids pulled from the ground.

Because I have no idea whatsoever as to what goes on in the excuse for a head of the moron/s responsible for such behaviour, I can only assume that this is regarded by those responsible as some sort of perverted entertainment.

Do you support the call for a feasibility study into developing an "inland port" and sending the district's export logs to Napier Port by rail, to get log trucks out of the city and to repurpose the port and harbour area?
