Deaf to public opinion?

LETTER

Is the tail wagging the dog? Once again the Gisborne public have been left in the dark regarding the Gladstone Road Bridge parapets! We were led to believe that a small concrete section would be left at both ends of the bridge, while the majority of the side would have see-through vertical railings.

Have those involved been underhanded by reinstating a considerable length of concrete sides at both ends?

To rub salt into the wound, they’ve made them even higher and more imposing!

Is someone deaf to the public and councillor opinion . . . to the point of being autocratic? Who is answerable and where do we go from here?

Remember, there is the upstream side of the bridge yet to be addressed as well.

Why couldn’t they just leave the original curved parapet ends?

Do you agree with the Government’s new guideline for police, to not prosecute drug users when a therapeutic approach would be more beneficial or there is no public interest in prosecution?
