Judder bars to be fixed?

LETTER

Are the judder bars going to be removed from Gladstone Road bridge? They are a bloody shocker.

Shudder

Footnote from Tairawhiti Roads general manager Dave Hadfield:

Resurfacing of the bridge is programmed for next construction season but the bridge expansion joints, or the issue that is causing the judder bars, has to be resolved first. Staff will prioritise this once other roading programmes like the Jolly Stockman intersection upgrade, the unsealed roads heavy metalling programme, CBD asphalting and Raikatane Road upgrade are through the delivery phase.

Dave Hadfield. How much longer will it take you to solve the problem? It has been present for years and you've done bugger all - that is, other than attempt to baffle road users with your usual bullshit. Don't throw in unrelated projects either, it don't work. Get the job done and get it done quickly, we've had enough.

Footnote from Ed: John, do please advise how you would prioritise a large work programme with limited contractor resources, and get every job requested done quickly.

And yet again Dave waffles on. I think these guys go to work just to eat their lunch.

Sad lives some must have . . . judder bars on a bridge, I'm sure there are more things in this town to worry about. Homeless people and teenagers roaming the streets in the early hours of the morning! The crime! But dam, these judder bars must be fixed!!!
"Leave them there, slow the speeders down."
