It’s basic maintenance!

Re: Time to talk ‘extras’, March 30 story about Te Araroa ratepayer meeting.

Come on council, stop pussy-footing around, it’s just basic maintenance work that you know the council is responsible for — things like roads with overhanging branches, township maintenance of drains, grass verges, footpaths and playgrounds.

Why does it take so long to organise this work? Shouldn’t there be a maintenance programme in place for each community?

It’s nice to hear how many millions of dollars are going to be spent on the roads, but people are sick of hearing that — they want the specifics, when and where.
