Bodes well

LETTER

So Meng Foon and Captain James Crook (not misspelt) are leaving their long standing positions in Gisborne. This can only bode well for Gisborne. Good riddance to them both.

I have serious doubts - 2 months ago
How do you know that whatever replaces them will be any better?

Hi Sue,
Whatever your opinion of Meng Foon, he is first and foremost a person, with a family and who has devoted much time and effort to his role as Mayor.
I don't think being unkind in a public forum is "cricket" really.
Meng, thanks for your service to our community. Thanks for having a cuppa with me when I first arrived back in Gisborne five years ago. Amazing that you remembered my name when we met again a few years later!
I wish you well in your future endeavours.

So, Ms Clifton, when you can bear to poke through the smoky cloud of your own arrogance, tell us where you think you might be now but for Captain James Cook?
