Wastewater, waste of time

LETTER

Another meeting and report on what has been known for a long time — that 90 percent of infiltration is coming from private properties and it is the private property owners’ responsibility to correct illegal connections.

The Herald of November 13 set out these details, there have been prior reports, and since then we have had WTF and the latest report.

Surely councillors were elected to make decisions.

Give the offending property owners notice to correct their position within six months or the council will fix and add the cost to their rates bill.

Or is this going to be left to the new council to decide, or further put off?

A disgrace.
