Good life, then good death

LETTER

I am definitely an advocate of ending life where there is no quality.

Why?

Because it is the duty of society to create an environment in which every individual will be able to live a good life and die a good death.

Palliative care can only offer comfort — but the death continues to be prolonged.

Should I ever be placed in this position and euthanasia has become a legal way out of a prolonged situation; that is my choice. A quick exit, no strings attached.

Totally Agree! It should be an Individual's Choice and there should be a clear legal pathway including legislation bought about by "Inclusive Consultation" with the 'Primary' Person, their Whanau and Relevant Health Professionals to shape and guide the checks and balances needed to regulate The "Right to End Ones Life Choice". Or Perhaps to save time and taxpayers' money We could just take on board the Abortion/Terminations legislature and guidelines, Similar Issues at Opposite Ends of The Life Debate Continuum? Even the catch-phrase "My Body, My Choice" Resonates Quite Clearly! "What's good for the Goose should be equally as good for the Gander, but Alas, not to be while our Politicians still continue to Meander"
