What plans for plinth?

LETTER

As a servant to the public of New Zealand, the Department of Conservation must immediately produce a full and clear plan and drawings of the work at the Cook Landing national monument.

With the site hugely altered already with a large concrete plinth, there is no excuse for further delay in showing the public exactly what is intended there.

To repeat and stress a major concern of mine, I once again accuse DoC, the council and the other parties concerned of a complete failure to consult the wider public.

You have all destroyed my trust in anything you do, allegedly on our behalf.

PS: The destruction of the astronomical observatory and the booting of the astronomy group off Titirangi is in no way a “restoration”. Again I cry “Shame!”
