Together against violence

LETTER

Thanks to everyone who helped make our White Ribbon Day event a success and who braved a chilly, windy evening to come out to support the message of White Ribbon Day 2019.
Many people helped in different ways but special thanks must go to Wendy, Violence-Free Tairawhiti Network co-ordinator, who did the lion’s share of the preparation and the work before and on the day of the event; and to Sam, who did all the cooking on the barbecue.
The Walk for Peace looked spectacular with people holding posters and banners, and the white ribbons tied on the bridges really helped to cement the message. Thanks all, and let’s continue in our quest to make Tairawhiti violence-free.
