I'd just like to acknowledge and give special thanks to the brave road workers who were supervising the one lane access around the gorge slip on the night of the storm last week.
Not only were they standing outside in the dark for long periods in torrential rain and very strong winds, they were working directly below an unstable hillside, probably at a pay rate that doesn't reflect the discomfort or danger of the role, to keep the road open for our convenience.
E kore e mutu te mihi honore ki a koutou.
