Damaged on-farm infrastructure and stock losses have left some farmers in a “pretty dire” situation after ex-Cyclone Hale blasted its way across the region on Tuesday night.

The worst-hit areas were around Tolaga Bay — Mangaheia, Mangatuna and Mangato
