Supergrans to benefit from memorial motorcycle ride

A sausage sizzle and memorial motorcycle ride will take place on Saturday, to raise money for charity and mark Motorbike Awareness Month.

The Gisborne Road Pirates Social Motorcycle Club (RPSMC) annual Hayden Miller Memorial Charity Run will leave from the Versatile home and building business at 390 Gladstone Road at 11am, with sign- in open from 9am.

A $10 entry fee will be donated to Supergrans.

“This year we are doing a toy run so bring along a new toy,” a spokeswoman for Gisborne Road Pirates said.

“All proceeds and toys are going to be donated to Supergrans. Bikes and cars no matter the make and model are welcome.

“For this event, we have partnered with Supergrans, who will be receiving the donations, and Versatile, for the venue, as well as We Train You, ACC and the Gisborne District Council and would like to say big a thank all of them.”

The exact route will be disclosed on the day.

The fundraiser is held in memory of Hayden Miller, the son of Road Pirates member Rob Miller.

Hayden had a rare chromosomal defect known as RCDP, which took his life in 2014.
