The Crystal Symphony came calling on Saturday. The seventh cruise ship visit of the season to date was a success, according to the ship’s agent, who said the feedback he got from the passengers who came ashore was positive. The ship has a capacity for more than 900 passengers but on this trip had only 155 on board, along with more than 400 crew. “Just over 40 of the passengers took a ride on the steam train Wa165, and the others who came ashore spent the afternoon walking about the city and shopping,” the agent said. Crystal Symphony sailed for Napier on Saturday evening. The National Geographic Orion calls again on January 5, followed by the Silver Muse again the next day, and then the Star Breeze on January 7.
