Biggest sheep sale of the year sees a solid lift in prices

The Matawhero saleyards hosted their biggest Friday sale this year yesterday when a total 4217 head were yarded and all sold. 

Most of them were store lambs. 

“There was a definite lift in prices paid for them, probably $15 a head,” said PGG Wrightson Livestock’s Cody Clark. 

“The top-priced males sold at $121, and they came from Waimaha Station.
