It beggars belief that the Gisborne District Council has approved the design of the chaotic, ideologically heterogeneous, multicoloured maze of speed bumps and concrete blocks now clogging Grey St.
This erudite, verbose, crapulous nonsense is written to reflect the progressive simultanagnosia mind of the architect who designed this piece of insane, impractical stupidity being constructed with taxpayers’ and ratepayers’ money.
It seems money can be allocated for the associated Grey St lighting whilst our city streetlights continue to go out one by one by one by one by one. I wonder if the GDC can be held criminally responsible if there is a tragic accident in a street without lights.
Surely, the mayor and councillors must be aware that an increasing majority are SO STRONGLY (and sensibly) opposed to this expensive insanity, it that unless action is taken to dismantle the “Nightmare that is Grey Street”, their positions as councillors are in serious jeopardy.
Wake up, GDC, as the opposition will not go away, but WILL grow.
I have lived here since the 1980s and never have I seen or felt such anger.
