OPINION
We have the money for health. It’s an ideological position and a preference for privatisation to pretend we don’t.
Fake deficits occur because the Government prefers to use taxpayer money on things such as charter schools, landlords, ā wasteful new ministry or tobacco.
PPPs or privatisation is a short-term solution for negative long-term consequences.
We might pay less now but a lot more in the long term for services that aren’t as good over the long term. The partners will expect to make big profits.
