Thunder, lightning, hail and rain hit Gisborne and the surrounding hills on Tuesday afternoon with an impressive display of Spring’s capricious four-seasons-in-one day.
An active front from the south passed across the district around 4pm and for 15 minutes was right above the city.
At the same time the nasty weather also went over the Wharerata hills.
