Beach clean-up begins

1 min read

Contractor Siteworx Civil has made a start on the latest clean-up of debris on the city beaches. Kaiti Beach was the first section to be worked on.

Once the driftwood build-up was removed from there, workers were to move to The Cut at Waikanae and progressively head west towards Pacific Street.

The driftwood debris is being trucked to a depot in Dunstan Road for storage and eventual processing.

The public are urged to keep away as work proceeds. It is aimed to have the beaches looking their best by Labour Weekend (October 21 to 23).
