Fears of injury or death as dirt bike riders run amok on the streets

Police are calling for public help to identify and catch dirt bike riders riding dangerously on Gisborne streets and in city parks and reserves. Hawke’s Bay police seized these two bikes recently for such behaviour. The riders have been hard to track down as they wear balaclavas and their bikes have no licence plates.

Gisborne police are calling for public help to crack down on the illegal actions of a group of dirt bike riders before “someone gets hurt or killed”. 

The riders have been seen doing wheel stands at speed along city streets and riding dangerously in parks and reserves. 

They wear balaclavas to hide their identities and ride bikes without licence plates.
