Gisborne Yacht Club may remain at its beachfront site despite the request of local iwi Ngāti Oneone that the land at Onepoto/Kaitī be returned to them.
Gisborne district councillors will consider a recommendation on Thursday to grant a new land lease to the yacht club for the Kaitī Beach site where its clubrooms are based. The lease is for a five-year period with a five-year right of renewal.
