A Gisborne High Court jury deliberated for about 13 hours over three days before finding a man guilty of the manslaughter of a 19-month-old toddler — the niece of his partner.
The toddler was found in a moribund state after suffering from head injuries and other injuries.
She died at Auckland’s Starship hospital four days later after her ventilator was turned off.
