TRANSPORT companies have been left facing what they say are unacceptable delays and huge costs, with the Waioeka Gorge closed for at least three more days.
State Highway 2 was closed on Friday afternoon after a huge slip fell across both lanes in the Waioeka Gorge following many days of wet weather.
The New Zealand Transport Agency expects the road to remain closed until at least Thursday.
