Shredder ready to tackle slash

A Herculean 30 tonne slow speed shredder is perhaps the one-stop solution that Gisborne needs when it comes to dealing with issues such as slash.

The $900,000 Terex 820 machine was donated to Gisborne company Harrison Bulk Haulage by an Auckland company. It is fitted with a 500 horsepower engine capable of shredding about 150 tonnes of slash or woody debris in an hour.

That's the newest dinosaur of the fossil fuel age I've seen.
I know that somebody kindly gave it too him but even so it costs money to run and there is no payout.
It is a cost.
I'm sure it goes great but who pays?
