Sign in the sky heralds new Māori monarch

The heavens heralded the choosing of a new Māori monarch on Thursday evening with a close alignment of the New Moon and Venus. 

On the day Te Puhi Ariki Ngā Wai hono i te pō Paki took the title of Māori Queen, Venus (Kopu) greeted the New Moon (1.9 days old) just after sunset.
