Tairāwhiti’s blue line to increase by three: 500 new officers to boost NZ ranks

Of the extra police being made available for Gang Disruption, Community Beat and Public Safety teams across New Zealand, Tairāwhiti will receive three additional officers.

Tairāwhiti will receive three of the 17 additional police officers for the Eastern district in a nationwide boost in numbers for Community Beat teams, the National Gang Unit and Gang Disruption units.

Police Commissioner Andrew Coster has confirmed further details around the deployment of 500 additional officers following funding from Budget 2024.
