Today’s newspaper is the first one produced in the systems of NZME (New Zealand Media and Entertainment) by our team of journalists here in Gisborne supported by the wider NZME team.
As you will have read in March, The Gisborne Herald is now owned by NZME — a national leader in news and entertainment which publishes five regional daily news titles, 15 community newspapers, The New Zealand Herald and nzherald.co.nz.
The Gisborne Herald remains committed to local news and information that is important to the people of Tairāwhiti. This will be supplemented with the best content from NZME’s 300-plus journalists and leading international syndicated content to bring you the best local, national and international news.
Some features you love such as weather and puzzles have had a fresh design. There are also new magazines that will be included in the paper. New Zealand’s most-read travel magazine — Travel — will be in Tuesday’s paper. OneRoof Property magazine will be in Thursday’s paper and lifestyle liftout Viva Local Life will be included in the Saturday paper.
There will be two opinion pages in each edition. You will also find some changes to regular features such as farming pages being renamed The Country and running on Thursday and Saturday. The Arts and Entertainment Guide will be on Friday rather than Thursday.
Subscribers to The Gisborne Herald have a great additional benefit, with all five-day-a-week subscribers also receiving a complementary NZ Herald Premium online subscription to keep up to date with the best news from around New Zealand as it happens.
Additionally, newspaper subscriptions have been transferred to NZME’s subscriber management platform which makes it easier to manage your subscription.
Thank you for your continued support of The Gisborne Herald. We hope you enjoy the refreshed newspaper and new magazines.
