New dawn rises: East Coast Open history made by 13-year-old Ngarimu

A teenager with the name of one of the great Māori leaders has followed in the footsteps of the greatest East Coast golfer.

Apirana Ngarimu, a short drive from where Sir Apirana Ngata was born (Te Araroa) and died (Ruatoria), won the 72nd edition of the East Coast Open at Te Puia Hot Springs Golf Club on Sunday.
