Te Puke’s Craig Van Der Nagel put a poor second round of qualifying behind him to stay in the title hunt on day 2 of the Emerre & Hathaway Poverty Bay Men’s Open.
Van Der Nagel, the 2023 runner-up, belied his lowly 14th qualifying spot by taking out seven-time champion Waka Donnelly (Poverty Bay) on the Awapuni Links course this morning.
