‘We are not against Māori wards’: PM talks democracy, healthcare and forestry on Gisborne visit

It’s a matter of principle. 

That is how Prime Minister Christopher Luxon describes the requirement of councils to either abolish Māori wards or hold referendums at next year’s local body elections.
