Woman charged with drink-driving after late-night crash into tree

A woman has been charged with drink-driving after a car left Aberdeen Rd and hit a large roadside tree on Tuesday night, police said.

The incident occurred at the city end of Aberdeen Rd/ at around 11.20pm.

The Ford sedan reportedly lost control, narrowly avoiding the frontage of a house before veering back and hitting the tree with the car’s front right corner.

No injuries were reported.

The vehicle remained by the tree on Wednesday, blocking the footpath.
