Several parks, reserves remain closed

Six parks and reserves in the district were still showing as closed today on the Gisborne District Council website.

The Gentle Annie Lookout reserve is closed until further notice.

The tracks on Makorori Headland remain closed due to wet ground conditions.

Turanga Gardens reserve is closed until further notice.

Waihirere Domain remains closed, along with the Whataupoko Reserve mountain bike tracks.

Watson Park remained closed on Wednesday due to wet ground conditions and fallen trees. The council aims to have it open again for sport this weekend.

Meanwhile, the track over Hillview Terrace from Valley Road will be closed for the rest of the week. Contractors will be improving drainage and laying metal that’s suitable for runners and walkers.
